I am a physiotherapist working in Burnie, Tasmania since 2016. Working in Burnie has been life changing, a majority of my caseload is treating patients with persistent pain and I have experienced first hand how this can be extremely traumatic and challenging on a day-to-day basis. Burnie is a community that thrives on people helping each other. Being a part of the Pain Revolution Outreach Ride through Tassie is my way of giving back to the community. This 700km bike ride, which includes more than 10000 vertical metres is going to start in Devonport and goes all the way to Hobart. I am keen to help people in my community, which is why I have decided to go through this physically, and mentally demanding challenge. While this is in no way similar to the challenges people experience when they suffer from persistent pain, it puts me in a position where I am being pushed out of my comfort zone and helps raise awareness about something I am extremely passionate about.
All the funds raised through this ride will go back into educating health professionals in the community so that they can better help people who experience chronic pain.
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. Please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
